Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Trying to find bookcloth in Vancouver is next to impossible. The very best I've been able to do, is an 18" x 18" square that will cost anywhere from $10 to $25 for a piece. Finding anything with a nice range of colours is not an option here. Headbands of any description are not available.
Bookbinding supplies in general, are considered luxury items or Craft supplies. As are, marbled papers, restoration materials and Chiyogami papers.
So a couple of weeks ago I made my first order to Talas, a bookbinding supply store. A bit nerve wracking because I wasn't entirely certain what I was ordering. I received my order yesterday and am very happy. It's great to see a 36" roll of bookclocth.
